AOC is a Refreshing change...
Hi every1! Thanks for checking out my blog :) I just wanted to say I think Age of Conan is a refreshing change to the bump and grind of WoW. Don't get me wrong, I really like WoW, but it was getting kinda old and stale lol (how many times can u do the same dungeon? lol). AOC has some exciting new graphics & lots of open-ended possibilities to take advantage of the extreme processing power needed from your computer! I absolutely luv the in-game artistry and musical scores, this is really overlooked in most gaming MMORPG's...
With that being said, I was really dissapointed with the default Funcom UI however, but the "Mirage UI", combined with the "AOC Custom UI" (both downloadable from Curse!) more than met my expectations. I had to have at least 1 more hotbar located at the bottom of my UI to fit my gameplay style! I really luv the pretty colors & graphics that the Mirage designer used for his creation - so much better than Funcom's! With every new patch you either have to download the newest update from the custom UI creator or run the AOC custom UI to fix it. I know the game has alot of bugs, but what MMORPG didn't when it was first released?
I'm looking forward also to Warhammer's release and DAOC's new "old frontiers" server! I know DAOC is "old skool" & many of u will say "well thats not very refreshing". But I was 11 when i first started playing it though as a little computer geek with braces, having to throw my big brother off the computer for my turn!! (mom! its my turn! tell him to GET OFF NOW!!). So, it still holds "sentimental" value for me (lol). I really miss the "old emain" pvp - it seems that was the only true workable pvp/RvR system - with actual group functionality - in an area of just about the right size so you can find opponents, with no annoying pve "quest objectives" to have to accomplish (when i'm in pvp don't bother me with pve plz!!!), and no "timer" to start the pvp or end it.... |
