This is a collection of simple mods to change the default Bottom Bars in Age of Conan.
There are 6 different Bottom Bar options available, so you can find the one that works
best for you, depending on your class and/or screen resolution(s) you generally play at.
Also included are 4 custom Player Portrait options (in addition to the Default
look)...why should the bosses and elites get all the fancy frames, eh? This mod also
includes a redesigned Assassin Soul Shard meter (now displaying your unholy points as
grinning skulls) as well as a larger and easier-to-click Pet Control Panel. Both
redesigned controls fit in nicely next to the new Player Portrait options.
The first Bottom Bar option (Simple), is merely the default Bottom Bar, restructured to
allow for the addition of the new Player Portraits, as well as new graphics on the
ends, so it blends into the XP/PVP Bars more smoothly. The lower 3 combo slots will
become available at level 40 for melee classes, and the Alt Bar switching behaves
normally (as it does on all 6 Bottom Bar options).
The second Bottom Bar option (Caster) always displays the lower 3 slots that normally
show up at level 40 for melee classes, so casters (or anyone for that matter) can have
the added room from level 1 onward.
The third Bottom Bar option (Extended) allows for full mapping of the top row of keys on
standard full-size keyboards. The Extended option(s) adds 1 slot for " ~ " to the left
side, and 2 slots for " - " and " = " to the right side of the Bottom Bars. The lower 3
combo slots will become available at level 40 for melee classes.
The fourth Bottom Bar option (Extended/Caster) is a combination of the Extended and the
Caster options, so you always have access to the lower 3 combo slots, as well as the
added " ~ ", " - " and " = " slots for a total of 6 additional slots (for caster classes).
The fifth Bottom Bar option (2 Row) provides 2 full rows of slots for those players who
require more room, offering 39 fully keymappable slots. The Alt Bar switching behaves
normally, and maintains the standard layout of the 1-10 slots on the lower row, with
the 3 extra combo slots above them. It is essentially the Extended/Caster option with 17
more slots added to the top row.
The final Bottom Bar option (3 Row) provides 3 full rows of slots for those players who
require the most room, offering 59 fully keymappable slots. The Alt Bar switching behaves
normally, and maintains the standard layout of the 1-10 slots on the lower row, with
the 3 extra combo slots above them. It is essentially the 2 Row option with 20
more slots added to the top row.
The new Player Portrait options allow the user to customize the look of their Portrait,
by displaying new graphics on either side of the Health/Stamina/Mana bars. You can
choose from a pair of fearsome Hyborian Lions, shamanistic Bears, grinning Skulls, or
evil, Acheronian Idols (that some say resemble the mighty Cthulhu just a little too
much). You can of course keep the original Default look and feel of the Player Portrait
if you prefer. More options will undoubtedly become available in the future as time
allows.
Because of the relationships between the Portraits and the Bottom Bars, the "Caligari
Character Portraits" components have also been included in this package. These change
the way the default (and hard to read for some) names that show up in the Character and
Target Portraits above the Health/Stamina/Mana bars, as well as making the
numbers/percentages on the stat bars easier to read. The Target portrait was also
modified to display both friendly and hostile buffs for better pvp insights into your
opponent.
Also included as part of the "Caligari
Character Portraits" components are revamped Floating Character Portraits. They've had their vertical order
reversed (name is on the bottom now) so they will fit nicely up on top. They also
incorporate new health bars, etc. to make them look more consistent, rather than having
both the player and target frames always left justified.
Like many of the Caligari UI Elements, the Bottom Bars will work alongside other mods
that do not directly affect the Bottom Bars, Player/Target Portraits or the Floating
Portraits themselves. As long as your UI of choice currently uses properly structured
files, you should be able to mix and match for the most part to suit your needs.
Unfortunately, there are no guarantees that all of these UI Elements will work with all other UI
mods available.
