  • About AOC UI Installer
  •

This small program helps you install the AOC UIs (all rights reserved to original writer of the UI).

I am working on version 3.0 at the moment, and I am looking forward to releasing it :-)

Supported UI's

Version 2.3
Stonerune (from version 0.8)
Plagued 1.7 & 1.8
Inspiration 1.13 and 1.14.1
Corruption 1.2.4 & 1.2.5
Mirage
FuriA
DemonOz
Simplicity
STRANGE UI
Keeper's UI

1) Download AOC UI Installer (run as Administator on Vista)
2) Select your downloaded UI (the zip file)
3) Select bar size
4) Install

Check "Remove old UI" if you want the program to remove old UI files.
Check "Show buff timers" if you want the program to enable timers in the Corruption UI.
Check "Patch XML files to latest version" to update the UI version.
Check "Install timerbar script" to create the timerbar script when installing

The tab pages "Buffs Self/Target" and "Buffs Top" makes it possible for the user to tweak the appearence of buffs and select what kind of buffs that should be visible in each section.

PS. requires .NET Framework 2.0, and you need to download the UI's separate!

Version 2.3 Added the option to patch UI files without installing the UI again

Version 2.2.2 Support for Inspiration 1.14.1

Version 2.2.1 Enabled 3 bar normal in Mirage UI

Version 2.2 Better error handling in the startup. New script /op with some quick options for the game. I have removed the old scripts.
Thanks to Nwardezir for the inspiration!

    Hi, nice work with the installer :) Is there a way or rules I need to follow so my UI could be compatible with your installer?

    Thanks

  • Yes there is, you have to include a small xml file in you ui that describes how it should be installed. From what I can tell, your UI is not compatible as it is. But we can do something about that :-)
    I am currently working on version 3.0 and in that version I will give more options to the UI builders. I think you need to wait for that version.
    But if you want to get started then you need to put each ui option (2 bars, 3 bars ect) in different folders and keep their original filenames.

  • An example to this is:
    Customized\Keeper's Bottom bar\2bars\
    Customized\Keeper's Bottom bar\2barsnopaging\
    Customized\Keeper's Bottom bar\3bars\

    It gets a bit more complicated regarding the mainsplitview options, thats where you need to wait for version 3.0.
    But if you make the structure as shown above we can easily make a version of your ui that is compatible with AOC UI Installer 2.3(without the mainsplitview options).

    Thanks Azagatoth, I will start rebuilting my structure and after that ill wait to see the changes required for your version 3.0.

    Thanks!

  • Np!

    If you make the restructure and contact me, then we can have a look at version 3.0 options.

    Hi,

    I changed the structure of my folders in my UI v2.6.3 that should be approched soon. Please let me know if this is ok with your UI installer.

    Thanks!

  • There needs to be a small change in the structure. In each of the subfolders there must be a "View" folder and under that one you can have your "HUD" and "MainGUI".
    like this: "Customized\Keeper's Bottom bar\3bar - small tabs bottom\Views"
    This is the same layout as the original folder structure (default).

    You need to create a file called "AOCUIInstaller.xml" that contains your options, this file needs to be inside your UI zip file (does not matter where). Look at the sample below:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    <!-- This is AOC install xml for the Keepers UI 2.6.3 -->
    <install name="Keeper's UI">
    <corefiles>
    <files path="Customized" topath="Data\Gui\Customized"/>
    </corefiles>
    <options index="0">
    <option name="3bar - small tabs bottom" path="Customized\Keeper's Bottom bar\3bar - small tabs bottom"/>
    <option name="3bar - tab on top" path="Customized\Keeper's Bottom bar\3bar - tab on top"/>
    </options>
    </install>

  • I download AoC patcher & extract to my admin>download folder, run AoC installer in admin (Vista) & when I select UI zip file, I get msg 'The selected Ui is not supported by this version of the AoC installer' 2.3.

    Reply Report Permalink
  • You get that message when the UI you are trying to install is not supported. That means you have to install it manually or choose one that is supported (see the list above)

    Can't get this to actually work under XP. Just removed all my .net framework and installed the 2.0 .net, and it'll churn for a moment then error out.

    EventType : clr20r3 P1 : aoc ui installer.exe P2 : 1.0.0.0
    P3 : 4a3f5db0 P4 : system P5 : 2.0.0.0 P6 : 4333ae87 P7 : 35f0
    P8 : 7f P9 : system.argumentexception

    Is the error it's throwing. I'd like to use the Stonerune UI, but since the only way to use it, is to use this app to install it, I'm at a stopping point.

  • Im not sure what is causing your problem.
    I have tested the installer on XP, Vista and Windows 7 and it worked on all of them.
    Is Age of Conan running while you use the installer ?
    Because I have seen some rare cases where that would give problems.

    So no ideas how to make this work eh?

    No sir, actually nothing is running while attempting this.

    I have it installed at J:\Program Files\Funcom\Age of Conan\Data\Gui\AOC UI Installer and running nothing but the OS.

    Thanks for responding Azagatoth. Perhaps there is a problem with the game. I cannot make a shortcut of the AoC exe icon. From what I see the path is correct, but there must be some other problem.
    My game is on a second drive. The path is E:/games/Age of Conan
    I put the installer in the customized folder with the ziped Stonerune.
    That path is E:/games/Age of Conan/Data/Gui/Customized
    I do have the original disks for AoC. But when I reactivated my account, they reinstalled the game with the download.

  • Ahhhh that explains it :-)
    Do not use the custom folder, it is reserved for the UI's.
    If you make a new folder "E:/games/Age of Conan/Data/Gui/AOC UI Installer" and place the installer and stonerune zip there. This should solve your problem.

    I'm having a problem with the installer. I'm trying to install Stonerune (v1.3) and I get this error. Then it deletes the Stonerune file. The error states: An error occurred while trying to install the UI.
    Access to the path 'AOC UI Installer.exe'is denied.
    Perhaps someone can help?

  • I think you have selected a wrong path to Age of Conan.
    "Age of Conan path" is supposed to point to the directory where Conan is installed. like "c:\program files\Funcom\Age of Conan"
