Hey bruse. What do you think people are going to discuss on these forums ? I mean, most of the stuff you need is at the official forums. Unless you want unmoderated discussion (flamewars ftw) with some simple rules like no warez, porn and spam.

Ah now that is a good question Jarlaxle.

What I would like to see being discussed at a place such as this is things not what we usually see nowdays on the official forums; suggestions towards what the game is supposed to be at it's final state. Things that is not subconciously directed towards developers of the game itself as a reason to get into beta ;)

There's plenty of purposes for a "fansite" forum, (if you can call this a fansite, I'm not entirely sure what your aiming for here yet, haha :) ) speculations on what you think you see in photage of the game, maybe ideas of how a good group could look. Well basically anything that is usefull for the player.

Such discussions at sites such as this one tends to attract the "right" people if that makes any sence to you. People who have an interesst in the game but don't wanna take part in the flamewars over at the officiall forums.

I don't think the official forums have most of the stuff. I think that a official forum discussion will never be as pleasent as a discussion on a forum where half of the visitors don't jump in to build e-peen ;)

What do you mean by "maybe ideas of how a good group could look" ? What kind of group ? PvP groups ? We don't have too much info on the game either

No we don't have much information, maybe that's why there's no great fansite forum yet. Maybe it IS a bit early for such discussions, I don't know. It was just an example :)

Either way.. A good first step, if you would ask me a broke musician in his 20's (haha) would be to post all updates on the news section and link it to this forum to provoke discussion. That's a safe card in my book. :)

Anyway. I guess I just see a potentially great fansite forum here considering the sites history and current popularity. I was very surpsised when I saw that there was very little activity here :)

Its like that on most forums (other than WoW addon discussion :/) - that is, the forum activity.

and i agree with bruse (hi bruse) - the official forum has been spammed with suckup threads and barely concealed self-advertisement posts about their extensive beta experience for a while now (mostly since beta signups in fact, shocker!). Im pretty sure a place where people don't think they are 'getting something' out of having a certain point of view or saying certain things will always be the best for neutral, objective, intelligent discussion. That said, im not sure what there is left to be said at the moment that hasnt already been discussed for the umpteenth time on the official forum.

LOL sorry for not responding to this. Well Prav, that was exactly my point, that most of the stuff has been discussed alot. Still though, Curse could attract new people from WoW, so I guess they could discuss stuff since they don't know so much about the game/didn't follow it already.
