age of conan (live gamer)

yesterday i read an article in the german gamer magazine PCGames (pcgames.de) that the age of conan developpers funcom will work together with live gamer (http://livegamer.com/) to allow players to buy/sell items and/or gold

i think this is very bad news, age of conan looks really good, the graphics are amazing, the horse riding and battlo mode on horses are a great feature and i love the town building system i saw, but if they really allow noobs to buy items for real money so that these noobs can have better armor then a hardcore gamer then i wont buy the game, i'm really upset right now, everything started so well, what do you think? ;)

can't seem to find the article you're talking about, nor any other article that supports it. do you have a link prehaps?

while looking i did find http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/12/virtual-item-sa.html but it seems to say the opposite

i do know that funcom does have a relationship with live gamer regarding anarchy online, however the relationships structure is far from open. essentially, funcom allows AO players to buy a select list of items for points. these points are given to players who are paid subscribers, you can choose to spend these points instead of paying your monthly due. the items available for purchase are items with no real effect on combat, etc. mostly hoverboards and things to make your character look cool.

I guess this all sits in the old saying of if you haven't heard a good rumour by lunch time, then start one
